Useful information

  1. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR NEW HELMET AND FOLLOW THEM CAREFULLY

This helmet has been conceived and manufactured to protect your head in case of shock thanks to the shock absorption ability of the different materials used.

! HELMET THAT HAS SUFFERED A SHOCK

  1. NEVER USE AGAIN A HELMET THAT HAS SUFFERED A SHOCK

A helmet that has suffered a shock must not be used any more. Sometimes damages are not visible from the outside however the internal materials may be damaged. The helmet is designed for shock absorption by alteration and partial destruction of some parts: in case of further shock it won't be able to protect you with the maximum safety. Return your helmet to the manufacturer for an expert inspection or replace it with a new one.

  1. PROPER WEARING

WARNING! Carefully select the size of your helmet as it is very important for your safety. Ask for your Authorized Dealer's advice when choosing your helmet suitable size. In order to check your helmet proper size, follow the instruction in section (4). Never use a helmet that is too small or too big for your head.

  1. HOW TO CHECK YOUR SIZE

A safe helmet should close-fit your head. To check the size, wear your helmet and shake your head left/right and forward/back. Try to move it with your hands: if it slips it means it's too big, therefore try a smaller size. If the pressure on your head bothers or hurts you, try a bigger size. You must then carry out the "ROLL-OFF TEST" (see figure B). Fasten your helmet. Hold onto the chin strap with one hand and using the other one try to take it off by strongly pulling from the back. If the helmet comes off the size is not correct. Check that you can turn your head freely and that your side view is not limited. Check that you can breath freely and that nothing obstructs the air flowing inside the helmet.

  1. POSITIONING

Do not fasten your helmet if you have positioned it too much backwards (see figure A) and always wear it in the proper position (see figure B).

  1. "MICROLOCK" RETENTION SYSTEM

Your new helmet is equipped with the exclusive “Microlock” retention system, which is one of the most comfortable and modern system available today thanks to its micrometric regulation. In order to have the highest protection and to appreciate the advantages of the “Microlock” system, carefully read the instructions contained in this label. Put your new MOMODESIGN on, making sure the size is correct.

  1. Attach the “Microlock” by inserting the dented tongue in the buckle Fig A-B. Warning: do not twist the strap; the dented part of the tongue must be facing the outside of the helmet. Pull on the chin strap to make sure the locking mechanism is engaged.
  2. Press the dented tongue completely, until you feel the strap press against your cheek Fig B-C. Warning: The tongue should not move freely in the locking mechanism.
  3. Now try to take off your helmet by pulling it from the back edge, rotating it towards the front; the helmet must remain well fixed on your head.
  4. If while performing step 3 you notice that the chin strap is too loose, this can be determined by insufficient pressure on the jaw when the dented tongue is fully inserted in the locking mechanism, then the strap must be pre-adjusted (shorten the chin strap). If while performing step 3 you notice that the chin strap is too tight, this condition can be determined if the chin strap is too tight when the dented tongue is on the third or fourth click, then the chin strap must be lengthened
  5. To make a pre-adjustment, release the helmet by lifting the red lever Fig D. Slip the helmet off. Adjust the chin strap length by passing the strap through the metal adjusting buckle Figure E.

Repeat steps 1 through 3 taking care that the dented tongue has effected at least 5 clicks into the body of the locking mechanism. We recommend performing the pre-adjustment by sliding the fastening flap by least 5 notches so as to make the most of the adjustment function of the "Microlock" system. By sliding or releasing the fastening flap by one notch as to the pre-adjustment, the system ensures the best comfort guarantying the fastening safety.

-WARNING- LIFT THE RED LEVER ONLY WHEN YOU ARE REMOVING YOUR HELMET! NEVER RELEASE THE LEVER WHILE DRIVING.

CARE OF "MICROLOCK" RETENTION SYSTEM The effectiveness of the adjustment and retention system can be impaired by dust or sand. We suggest periodic cleaning of the "Microlock" retention system using only a solution of luke-warm water and neutral soap. USE NOT SOLVENT. DO NOT LUBRICATE. Manipulations or unusual events, which can compromise the working of the retention system cannot be excluded. If the "Microlock" system is not functioning properly discontinue the use of the helmet.

  1. SHIELD

You can equip your helmet with two different types of shields (available in different color gradients): scratch resistant and anti-fog. Clean your shield with lukewarm water ( use demineralized water if available ) and neutral soap, to maximize the anti-fog effect. Avoid using water containing too much chlorine. Do not use alcohol, gasoline or other solvents nor window cleaning products which could contain alcohol. Remove the shield before cleaning the helmet inside. Place it back only when the cleaning products have evaporated completely.

WARNING!

For safe visibility – especially at night- immediately replace a scratched shield. Use colored shields only during the day. Darker shields are not homologated and are intended for race track use only. The anti-fog shield has been treated internally with a special process that reduces condensation in normal usage conditions between –5°C and +40°C (23 F and 104 F) with a relative humidity of 80%. This is a protection against the formation of fog and not a humidity absorbent. The excessive water mist may turn into a water film inside the shield. Vent the helmet to reduce this phenomenon.

  1. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean your helmet with lukewarm water only (never use hot water!) and few drops of neutral soap or use the special HELMET CLEANING PRODUCTS. Let the helmet dry at ambient temperature: do not expose to heat sources and never use a blow drier to dry it.

  1. DO NOT MODIFY YOUR HELMET IN ANY WAY

Never try to tamper your helmet. Do not cut nor drill the shell of your helmet. Do not insert screws. Do not paint it. Do not modify the chin strap. Do not remove the shield lower nor the helmet lower rims, as it can be very dangerous in case of accident. Do not modify the comfort padding by cutting or removing the polystyrene as this would greatly reduce the helmet shock absorption capacity. Use only original MOMODESIGN spare parts.

  1. USE YOUR HELMET CAREFULLY. DO NOT HANG IT TO YOUR MOTORCYCLE WHILE DRIVING

Although your helmet is very strong, it must always be handled with care. Impacting solid or rough objects may damage the paint coating or even worst- reduce the helmet safety. Never ride with your helmet hanging down from your motorcycle as it would damage the paint coating, the shield and the chin strap. Always keep it away from muffler, exhaust gases and heat sources. In hot weather when you are not riding always protect it against sunlight, especially if the helmet color is dark.

  1. KEEP YOUR HELMET OUT OF THE REACH OF PETS

Make sure that your pet does not "chew" nor "scratch" the helmet and comfort padding. The damage caused would be irreparable.

  1. STORE YOUR HELMET IN A SAFE PLACE

Never leave your helmet on mirror stalks nor handlebar to avoid damages to the comfort padding.

  1. DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR HELMET TO SOLVENTS

Never leave your helmet on the tank for too long as the exhausting gasoline fumes would damage it. Never expose your helmet to solvents such as gasoline or any other type of fuel in order to avoid damages to shield, small plastic parts and comfort padding.
